In marketing, we talk a lot about experiences. And rumor has it that people are more likely to tell their friends about the poor experiences they’ve had with a product or service than the good experiences. And while this may be true, I don’t want to be a downer. How about we talk about some positive experiences, shall we?

I’d like to take this opportunity to tell you about a few awesome products I’ve tried lately. Of course most of them are food, but I’m sure you won’t mind.

World of Grains Multigrain Cookies

I discovered these a few weeks ago while I was grocery shopping at Whole Foods. It happened to be sample day (lucky me), and after passing a yogurt tasting (blech), a cheese puff tasting (eh), and a few other tastings, I came across these cookies. These small two-bite (or one bite if you’re like me) cookies have a shortbread-like texture, but with a nutty taste and bite. Best of all, they’re good for you! Each 7-cookie serving contains only 130 calories, but packs in 15 grams of whole grains and 90mg of Omega 3s. Plus they come in serving size bags, which make these a nice grab-and-go snack.

Kashi TLC Chewy Granola Bars in Dark Chocolate Almond

I’ve loved pretty much every Kashi product I’ve ever tried, but nearly fainted when I tried the Dark Mocha Almond chewy granola bars. Almonds + dark chocolate + espresso = GOOD. They definitely taste more like an indulgent treat than a healthy one.

LaCroix

As a former Diet Coke addict who completely gave up soda two years ago, I still find that I crave carbonated goodness every now and then. Luckily I discovered LaCroix—sparkling water that comes in a bunch of tasty (and natural) flavors. I really love the Grapefruit flavor, but the lemon or lime flavors would work well as a substitute for Sprite in your favorite summertime adult beverages. Best of all, I can enjoy a can of this stuff knowing that it doesn’t contain HFCS, aspartame or other I’d rather nots.

Half Acre Beer

Sure, I may drink a lot of carbonated water, but I also like bubbles in my beer. Half Acre Beer Company, a new Chicago brewery (located on Lincoln just south of Montrose), is creating a variety of great brews like Half Acre Lager, Over Ale, Baume’ and Daisy Cutter. And sure, I may be a bit biased as my husband races for the Half Acre Cycling team, but you don’t have to take my word for it–try some for yourself.

ISO Bouncy Creme

I’ve been using this product for a few years, but every summer I’m reminded of how truly awesome this stuff is. When June comes around and it’s time for me to embrace my natural curl again, this stuff really does the job (available at Ulta for around $10). I’ve tried tons of products in my day, and this is literally the only one that helps shape the curl without making it look like I just got out of the shower (no one likes that wet/crunchy/curly look). Thank you ISO Bouncy Cream for putting the bounce back into my curly-haired step. Although I suppose I should also give my genes a little love, too. Thanks mom and dad!
